Scalability

The bigger the size of the HELIOtube, the greater the advantages

Conventional systems, e. g. the parabolic trough, face increasing challenges with larger dimensions. The requirements on the construction and stability increase disproportionately and ultimately limit the technical and economical viable size. Therefore, the scalability is limited.

Differently for the HELIOtube: the advantages of the HELIOtube grow with its dimensions: the bigger diameter, the smaller the necessary pressure to tension the films and the more stable the overall structure.

Our next models will have an aperture of 3 meters. Later, we plan for bigger dimensions of 5 or 10 meters. The length will range from 50 meter to several hundred meters.
